Cybook Opus - Great Product

This is a great little reader. What I like about this reader is that it is small enough to carry around - even in the supplied case, yet big enough to be a comfortable read. It is a bit more expensive than some of the other readers, but then they are bigger and clunkier - which means for me they would end up being left at home half the time. It is also easy to hold and operate with one hand as it is so light. The 12 font sizes, changeable fonts and bold feature means that you can fine tune the reading experience. The screen is very clear, and the controls easy to use. It has no wifi or mp3 capability and this simplifies things enormously. Books can be added via USB just as you would add files to a memory stick, or you can use software such as Adobe or the excellent free Calibre. Books are arranged in the library by author, and then title. As purchased the reader is set up for epub files (plus others such as pdf), however it can be be changed to read mobi files via a free software download. The accelerometer works well, although I have turned it off on mine as I do not need this function. Battery life is good and it charges via USB. There is a slot for a memory card should you need it, but the onboard memory is big enough for hundreds of books. Start up time is about 15 seconds from completely off, or 1 second from standby. If you are an avid reader, and want to be able to take your books with you everywhere then I can thoroughly recommend the Opus.
